Comprehensive design reviews to adopt suitable manufacturing methods are conducted at the start of each project; this is critical for project success and ultimately important to produce components for a serial programme. The aim is to adopt a repeatable process to maintain quality requirements for the volumes required in production. The manufacturing feasibility stems from the extrusion shape agreement; we consider a mutually agreed part datum strategy combined with inspection strategy, as well as General Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T) linking to international extrusion and fabrication standards.

Each project component is ‘fit for the purpose’ set within the vehicle architecture; sometimes certain features (extruded or fabricated) may require tighter tolerances, fit or clearance (down to the basics of limits and fits). To understand the requirements of the final customer product, our team will understand the function and necessary behaviour of the component and will work with your design team to find the right solution for prototyping or main steam production in volume. Our team also have full CAD file viewing and interrogation facilities (CATIA, Solidworks & other file types) to support in all required technical & commercial reviews.
